Alize Cornet hot

A French professional tennis player Alize Cornet was born on 22nd January, 1990 in Nice, Alpes-Maritimes, France. She is the current French number one. Cornet is the daughter of Francis and Patricia. Alize started playing tennis when she was at the age of 4 after watching her brother play. 

Alize Cornet made her Grand Slam debut in the year 2005 at the French Open. She then made it to the second round where she lost to Amelie Mauresmo. The following year, Cornet reached to the second round by defeating Virginia Ruano Pascual of Spain in the first round. In the Wimbledon 2007, Cornet was defeated in the qualifying event by Olga Govortsova but she made it to the main draw as a lucky loser when Li Na of China withdrew.

She has an extensive juniors record winning the 2007 Girl’s Singles at Roland Garros. In the year 2008, Cornet reached the second round of the Australian Open. There, she lost to the ninth seed Daniela Hantuchova. She then entered the 2008 Rome Masters and defeat Vera Dushevina in the first round. She also defeated Francesca Schiavone in the second round, world number 3 Svetlana Kuznetsova in the third round. She then received a walkover from an injured Serena Williams to get into the semi-finals. She reached her first Tier I final by beating Anna Chakvetadze but she was lost to Jelena Jankovic. 

The same year, Cornet won her first WTA title at Budapest. She was seeded second and she defeated Magdalena Rybarikova in second round and followed it up with a win over Anna-Lena Gronefeld in the quarters. She then defeated Greta Arn in semis to make her third final of the year. She then won over Andreja Klepac. She also capped it off by winning the doubles with Janette Husarova at the same tournament.

In the year 2009, Alize posted her best showing at a Slam by reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open. The same year, she reached a career-high ranking of number 11. She defeated Yanina Wickmayer in Bad Gastein the final to make collect her second career title in June of the year 2012. She then won her third career title in May of 2013 at Strasbourg. 
Cornet started the year 2014 with ranked 26th. She teamed with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to win the Hopman Cup for Team France.

In the third round, she lost to Maria Sharapova at the Australian Open. She kicked off her grass court season by beating Serbia’s Bojana Jovanovski in the first round at the Aegon International in Eastbourne. She was seeded 25th at the Wimbledon and defeated WTA rising star Anna Schmiedlova in the first round. In the second round, she defeated Czech Petra Cetkovska and she faced Serena Williams defeated her in the third round. Cornet will be playing in the second week of a Grand Slam for the first time in five years.

Standing tall at the height of five feet and eight inch, Cornet’s favorite shot is backhand and her favorite surface is clay. She loves rock music and her favorite artists are Muse, Jack Jackson. She also loves to play other sports such as basketball, handball and soccer. In addition, she enjoys reading and playing piano. In her professional career till now, Cornet has won five titles.
