An American internet entrepreneur, writer as well as philanthropist Gurbaksh Chahal was born on 17th July 1982 in Tarn Taran Sahib, Punjab, India. As a child, he was named as Gurbaksh Chahal. He is the son of Avtar Singh and Arjinder Chahal. He also has one brother and two sisters. His parents got the visa the year 1985 through the Diversity Immigrant Visa program which is also called as the Green Card Lottery in for America. After that, the family settled to San Jose, California when Chahal was at the age of four.
Chahal dropped out of the high school on 15th December 1998 for working full-time at his first company named Click Agents. The company was one of the first ad networks which focused around performance based advertising. At that time, he was 16 years old. Later, after two years, it was announced that Value Click has agreed to buy Click Agents in $40 million.
Later, in January of 2004, Chahal founded his second company which was named Blue Lithium. The company specialized in behavioral targeting of banner advertising. It was named as one of the top 100 private companies in America by Always On. Later, Yahoo! Bought Blue Lithium on 15th October 2007 for $300 million cash. Through the transition period, Chahal remained the CEO of the company.
He started his third online add company in September of 2009 which was focused on creating new category of real time advertising. On 18th October 2010, the company was rebranded as RadiumOne. Later on March of 2011, the company announced that it has raised another $21 million in the financing which has valued the company at $200 million. Besides, he is also an author of an international best-selling “The Dream”. It is the true inspirational tale of his own entrepreneurial journey.
Prior to that, Chahal had also made his appearance in television. He had appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show on 23rd October 2009. He was introduced as one of the youngest as well as the wealthiest entrepreneurs on the planet by Oprah Winfrey. Gurbaksh was also featured as America’s “most eligible bachelor” on 8th January 2009 on Extra TV. In addition to that, he has also made his appearance on an episode of the Fox TV reality show called Secret millionaire.
