Guy Kawasaki is the chief evangelist of Canva which is an online graphic design tool. He was born on 30th August 1954 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended Iolani School and graduated from there in 1972. He then went on to join Stanford University from where he got graduated in the year 1976 with B.A. in psychology.
After that, Kawasaki attended law school at UC Davis. There, he lasted just for two weeks before he realized that he hated law school. He then enrolled in UCLA Anderson School of Management in the year 1977. From there, he received his MBA.
At the beginning of his career, he started doing job at a jewelry company named Nova Stylings. It was his first job. Later in the year 1983, Kawasaki got a job at Apple through his roommate of Stanford who is named Mike Boich. For four years, he was a chief evangelist.
He then moved to lead ACIUS, the US subsidiary of ACI in 1987 that published an Apple database software system which is called 4th Dimension. After working for two years, he left ACIUS in 1989 to pursue his bliss of speaking, consulting and writing career. He had written columns for Macworld, Forbes and Macuser.
The same year, he also created another software company named Fog City Software along with the three best co-founders in the world who are Will Mayall, Jud Spencer and Kathryn Henkens. They created an email product named Emailer which they sold to Claris.
Later, he returned to Apple in the year 1995 as an Apple fellow. He became the co-founder of the Garage Technology Ventures. It is a venture capital firm that made investments in Pandora, TripWire, The Motley Fool and D.light Design. In addition, Guy had also founded Truemors in the year 2007 which is a free-flow mill. It was sold to NowPublic. Besides he is also the founder at Alltop which is an online magazine rack.
Guy Kawasaki announced on 1st March 2013 that he would be joining the Google as an advisor to Motorola and his role will be to create Google+ mobile device community. Apart from that, he also became the chief evangelist of Sydney based company in 1st April 2014 which is called Canva. The company provides an online graphics design tool for the rest of us.
To talk about his personal life, Guy is married to his wife Beth. The couple met each other while his time at Apple. Guy and Beth have four children. He is of Japanese American ethnicity. Kawasaki has the net worth of $30 million.
