Lauren Scala is a television reporter who was born on 10th February, 1982 in Mineola, New York. She is currently serving on WNBC’s Today in New York as the traffic reporter. She attended Mineola High School. Scala then received a degree in Communications and got graduated from Fordham University in the year 2004.
Lauren Scala has a solid and diverse background in the entertainment industry which includes films, music, magazines and television. She had worked for the major companies such as MGM, DreamWorks Pictures, and Paramount Pictures and J Records.
Scala began her hosting career at Time Out New York On Demand. While there, she also used to work as an associate producer on several hundred New York City based lifestyle video segments before the channel concluded.
Until January of 2010, Scala was the co-host of NYCTV’s entertainment news roundup City Scoop. From 2010 till 2012, Scala has been the host of WNBC’s Live Interactive Trivia Game on the Saturday edition of Today in New York. Apart from that, Scala had hosted several other half shows for NBC’s digital cable channel New York Nonstop which includes Don’t Miss This a collaboration with Time Out New York Magazine, ‘The Great American Health Challenge’, New York City’s first local fitness themed reality competition show, and ‘Nonstop Sound’ which was a show about music in the big apple.
Currently, she also hosts a half hour show called “In the Wings”. It is a backstage guide to everything Broadway that appears on NBC NY Nonstop and is an East Coast Entertainment Correspondent for EPIX News.
Apart from that, Lauren has also hosted pieces for Yahoo!, BestBuy.com, Chic.tv. She has also appeared as a series regular on MTV’s FNMTV. In addition, she is also the member of the prestigious New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT). Besides, she has also hosted the official broadcast of the 52nd Annual New York Emmy Awards in the year 2009 which was aired on April 9, 2009 on NYCTV, a division of NYC Media Group.
