An American film and television actor Mark Valley was born on 24th December 1964 in Ogdensburg, New York, U.S. He is mostly known for playing the role of Brad Chase on the TV drama Boston Legal, as Oliver Richard on the NBC drama Harry’s Law, as FBI agent John Scott on Fringe, as Christopher Chance on Fox’s action/drama Human Target, as Tommy Sullivan in ABC’s Body of Proof and as CIA Director Gabe Widener in NBC’s Crisis.

He developed an interest in acting as a high school student. Valley attended United States Military Academy and got graduated from there in the year 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and engineering. 

After completing his graduation, he was stationed in Germany for five years and he also became fluent in German. He also served his country and was a part of Operation Desert Storm. His acting career started while he was in Berlin. Valley was discovered by an agent who convinced him to try acting. His first role was working in John Schlesinger’s The Innocent which starred Anthony Hopkins.

It was filmed in Germany in 1993 and was released in the year 1995. Valley continued working abroad and also appeared in several more productions before he returned to the United States for pursuing his career further. His other filmography includes Breast Men, Some Girl, The Siege, The Next Best Thign, Jericho, Big Time, Live!, Shrek the Third, Stolen, Zero Dark Thirty and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. 

The same year, he began in US television with appearance in soap opera show Another World in which he portrayed the role of “Father Peter. He also took over the popular role of Jack Devereaux on the NBC Daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives. He also played on the short-lived Keen Eddie in 2003 as Detective Eddie Arlette who is an American police officer in London. In the year 2008, Valley made an appearance on Fringe as FBI agent John Scott.

After that, he was cast as security specialist Christopher Chance on the Fox action series Human Target. His other notable work in television includes Vanishing Son IV, George Wallace, Brimstone, Diagnosis: Murder, Running Mates, Once and Again, ER, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Lone Gunmen, Gideon’s Crossing, Pasaden, Spin City, Harry Green and Eugene, The 4400, I’m with Her, Boston Legal, Emily’s Reasons Why Not, Business Class, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Swington, Harry’s Law, Human Target, Body of Proof, SOKO Stuttgart and Crisis. 

To talk about his personal life, Valley was married to Anna Torv, his Fringe co-star. The couple got married on December of 2008. Due to some reason, they got separated after one year of their marriage. Mark Valley has one daughter named Sherri who was born in the year 1987. Currently, Mark resides in Los Angeles, CA.

Apart from that, standing tall at the height of five feet and ten inch, Mark Valley is also active with several veterans advocacy groups which also includes Volunteers of America, GI Film Festival, VFT Advisory Board. In addition, Valley is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild Armed Forces Committee.
