Sharon Tay an American journalist was born on October 15, 1966 in Singapore. She was grew up in Connecticut. She completed her school level from the International School. She then, returned to the United States to complete her high school education at a boarding school in Massachusetts. Tay graduated from Boston University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in International Relations.
In the late 80’s, Tay began to write, produce, and anchor her own local cable news show. This led her a job offer from KCCN-TV in California. She moved to west coast in 1993, to work for a central California CBS affiliate as a General Assignment Reporter. After that, she became a general assignment reporter for KTLA-TV in Los Angeles. She moved her ranks at KTLA-TV over the course of the next few years and she became the anchor for their early morning news.
In 2004, she started to host two programs on MSNBC. She is now currently working as an anchor for KCAL weeknight and primetime newscasts in Los Angeles. After working there for few years, she was hired as a General Assignment Reporter by Tribune Broadcasting for its KTLA-5 Los Angeles staff. Tay has won an Associated Press award for Best Sport News and she has also shared an Emmy with KTAL’s ten o’clock news team for coverage of the Malibu and Northridge disasters.
After that, she became the Weekend Anchor and Ultimately Anchor for the early morning editions of the news. After holding that position for more than seven years, Sharon moved to NYC in 2005. She went there for helping in launching two entertainment shows for MSNBC. She was hosted and produced “MSNBC At The Movies” and “MSNBC Entertainment Hotlist”. She joined as a general assignment reporter in 2007, at weekend news CBS2 and KCAL9 and after some time she started anchoring on CBS2 and KCAL9. Tay was named the primary Co-Anchor for KCAL9 News in April 2010.

Sharon loves to travel different part of the world. She also knows to speaks the Spanish and Cantonese. Sharon loves to spent her time loving her Labrador and keeping herself fit.
