An American stock car racer, NASCAR team owner as well as a businessman Tony Stewart was born on 20th May 1971 in Columbus, Indiana, U.S. During his youth period, he attended Columbus North High School. He was grown up racing to go karts and he was successful very early and he also won a World Karting Association championship in the year 1987. He then moved to the United Midget Racing Association (UMRA). There, he raced TQ (three quarter) midgets till 1991.
After that he again moved to the United States Auto Club (USAC) series with the help from one of his karting sponsors and a friend Mark Dismore. He became the USCA Rookie of the Year in 1991. In 1994 and 1995, Tony became the USAC National Midget Series Champion and in the same year in 1995, he also became the USAC Silver Crown Series champion.
The following year, he made his NASCAR Busch Series debut where he drive for car owner Harry Rainer. He had a best finish of the 16th place in nine races. During the 1996 NASCAR Busch Series season with the team after completing part time, Toy planned to move up to the Winston Cup Series in 1997 driving for Ranier-Walsh Racing. The deal fell through when Tony decided that he wasn’t ready for the move. In 1999 season, Tony got qualified his #20 Home Depot Pontiac on outside pole for Daytona 500. He also finished ninth in the 1999 Indianapolis 500 and fourth at Charlotte.
In the 2001, season, Tony was caught up in the 18 car crash on the lap 173 on back straightway which also collected Bobby Labonte, Rusty Wallace, Terry Labonte, Steve Park, Jerry Nadeau, Jason Leffler, Buckshot Jones, Ward Burton, Andy Houston and many more. It was his worst season but he was second runner-up to Gordon in final points standings. In the 2004 season, Stewart became the owner of the one of the most legendary short tracks in Eldora Speedway, America.
The following season became the most successful years for him. He won his second title in the Nextel Cup. In the year 2008, Stewart left Joe Gibbs Racing to become an owner driver with Stewart Haas Racing. He won his first Sprint Cup pole position on 16th April 2010 at Texas Motor Speedway. On 5th August 2013, Stewart was involved in a multi-car crash while leading a sprint car at Southern Iowa Speedway. The crash was hard that he broke both the tibia and fibula bones in his lower leg.
Later, it was announced before the 2014 season that he had been medically cleared to race. Apart from that, Tony Stewart had also founded Tony Stewart Foundation in the year 2003. The principal purposes of the Foundation is to raise and donate funds for helping and caring the chronically ill children, drivers injured in motorsports activities as well as to support other charitable organizations for protecting various animal species.
The same year, he also appeared in the music video called The Road I’m On by 3 Doors Down. Tony was the first person who won Winston Cup Championship and The Nextel Cup Championship. He had also released his book titled “True Speed: My Racing Life: by Tony with Bones Bourcier.
