Mika Brzezinski is one of the highly experienced and successful American television host and journalist. She is the co-host of " Morning Joe," a weekday morning broadcast on MSNBC .
She was born on May 2, 1967 in New York City. She is the daughter of the fomer National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski and a Czech descent mother, Emilie Anna Benesova. Earlier, her father was an instructor at Columbia University and mother, a grand niece of Czechoslovakia's former president Edvard Benes.
Her brother, Mark Brzezinski is currently associated with the United States Ambassador to Sweden. Brzezinski completed her high school from The Madeira School and later was sent to Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts and graduated in 1989. She then completed her degree from Georgetown University by majoring in English.
Brzezinski started her journalism career being an assistant on "World News This Morning " for ABC in 1990. Afterwards, she went to join WTIC-TV(WTIC-DT previously), a Fox affiliate in hartford, Connecticut. She developed herself as a assignment and features editor and then general assignment reporter.
After a couple of years serving for the channel she moved to WFSB-TV (WFSB-DT previously ) and immediately promoted to host the weekday morning show in 1995. However, in 1997, she left her previous channel and moved to the CBS network news and began to work as a correspondent as well as an anchor for "Up to the Minute " an overnight news program.
She had also worked for MSNBC during her short break at CBS but in 2001, she came back to CBS and covered heart breaking news of September 11, 2001 attacks and many others. Before she left CBS she contributed for "CBS Sunday Morning " and " 60 Minutes. "
Brzezinski also believes that media should not only target their story by impairing other's public image. In fact, in june 2007, she ignored to report the news regarding Paris Hilton's releasing from jail in the show "Morning Joe".
Apart from her work she spends time in writing books, and has authored the book, "All Things at Once," which was published in Jannuary 2010. In 2011, her next book "Knowing Your Value: Women, Money and Getting What Yoou're Worth," was published by Weinstein Books.
Brzezinski is one of them who has a successful marriage life. She married to James Patrick Hoffer on October 23,1993. Sources said that, the loving couple met while both were working for WTIC-TV.
Her husband is a television news reporter works on WABC-TV. The couple have been together for almost a two decades and never had any sort of issues in their mariage life. At the moment they are the parents of their two daughters.
